Criticism is an interesting thing: good or bad, you might learn something from it so it’s best to pay attention anyway. When it’s good, you may be informed of new ways to act or change. When it’s bad, you may now know who to distant yourself from. In both cases, it “can” potentially be a win-win.
With all that being said, criticism is part of the deal: you do something, good or bad, you’ll hear about it eventually. What matters here is you should take the time to consider what’s said. Just as a broken clock can show the correct time twice a day, someone you don’t expect could provide you with nuggets of wisdom. Being able to weigh the pros and cons of any given “advice” is a valuable lesson in itself. Even haters can teach you something.
It doesn’t matter if they think you’re great or not. What matters is what you believe you can do and be proud of what you’ve accomplished so far. But if you can improve with some comments here and there, all the while staying true to yourself, then that’s even better. It’s not always fun or easy to do but that’s worth a shot.
