Being patient and pushing forward
Having dreams and aspirations is wonderful but we have to remind ourselves constantly that we can’t accomplish all of them without work and time.
I’m patient for many things but not for all. Many times, I’d love to see those projects done and gone or simply completed as fast as possible.
What I need to make sure I understand is that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and therefore my dreams can’t all happen at once: I need to be satisfied with the progress I make each day.
For that to happen though, I need a good plan for each. I realize I’m still not there yet and more work is needed in that area. I’m not saying to necessarily have multiple plans for all contingencies though: one should suffice… for now. What I mean by that is, even though my plan may fail, having other options can sometimes make us lazier and not as focused on the target because we “know” we have other options. So In essence, we might not be as committed to our success because of that.
In a nutshell, dream big but plan so you can celebrate the progress each step of the way and not just the final result: this way you should feel more encouraged to move to the next step because, as we know, one obstacle might be hard to overcome but if we give ourselves the chance to celebrate after it, even when we know the next hurdle might also be difficult, it helps, no?
