Know your weaknesses
This week, I tried to do a video for my YouTube channel and something was off: I was enthusiastic about it but when I tried to speak, nothing came out. It is weird, considering that I did a whole year of daily vlogs but for some reason, I was not able to say anything meaningful and compelling enough to record.
Yes, I love recording videos but after doing a few blog posts, it feels easier to write down my thoughts instead of saying them in front of a camera.
Currently, I’d consider this a weakness, and it’s a good thing. There are many definitions for weakness but here I’m talking about something I could improve on and not necessarily an enormous burden, crushing me under its weight, preventing me from growing. No.
So after realizing that, I know I can improve: I could do a video with the blog post I wrote instead of the other way around, or maybe have a bullet point list out of it to help with my message delivery. Bottom line is I can get better.
Working on your weaknesses is not always required. Sometimes, focusing on your strengths alone helps more. Here, it’s a mix of both.
As you probably know by now, becoming better is really important to me: I don’t want to stop improving just because it’s difficult. If we want make progress in life, we have to move forward and deal with the obstacles. Sometimes we can do it alone and other times we might need help from others. Regardless of all that, we have to find a way.
Writing also helps me with my vocabulary since English is not my first language. Getting better, in all spheres of life, that’s the ticket!
What do you think? Do you agree? Do you often face similar problems where you either need to push forward or course correct? Let’s talk!
