My transformation into a calmer person
Being calmer slowly seems to transform me into a less judgemental person. It looks like by focusing more on remaining calm and feeling good, I don’t focus as much on others’ opinion of me and therefore I don’t try to please them as much as I used to.
This means a lot to me: not judging someone so no guilt attached to it and no stress of trying to fit in a certain mould. A win-win situation.
With all things being considered, this inevitably leads to a simpler and better life and it’s essentially what I was looking for all those years. I was trying so hard to find what to do when in fact it was more a matter of what not to do.
I can assure you that my life is far from being stress-free but at least I try and it’s comforting to see that doing less might help since we’re already so busy all the time anyway.
The simple act of being an observer of your life, another version of the Life Guard I’d say, is a wonderful thing: you take the time to analyze what you do and can come to the rescue to reason and calm yourself if needed.
I am by no means perfect and that’s why I’m sharing this: if I can do it, you can too! If you want to give it a shot, take the time tonight or tomorrow morning to breathe for one minute in silence, that should be a good start.
Give it a shot, you’ll see!
