Taking your time might not always be the best option...
Wikipedia says it best: Parkinson's law is the adage that "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". In other words, the more time you have to do a job, the longer it’ll normally take to complete.
Having a hard deadline to complete a task can be a blessing in disguise: it can force us to find new ways to solve problems. Feeling the pressure is not necessarily a bad thing if it helps moving towards a goal or a solution faster.
Sometimes we worry we won’t be able to finish in times. It’s probably best to just start and then finish, and finally after all that, evaluate what was good and what could’ve been better. There’s no point in judging a situation before it happened if it’s something new or uncertain. Probably best to just try and see.
In both the worst and best scenario, we’ll hopefully learn something, so why not do our best to finish a project as fast and as efficiently as possible instead of torturing ourselves by wondering for too long?
And yes, that’s something I need to work on too.
