Too many frustrations
The frustration of seeing some trash left on the on the ground or a task left undone for days can be so annoying. You might yell and complain either internally with resentment or externally with rage, but the fact remains: something wasn’t done the way you thought it should be and it’s aggravating.
This morning, I found myself in that situation where I would just be frustrated that nobody could see the “obvious” stuff laying around and didn’t pick it up.
An interesting thing happened right after it: I saw something I left on the countertop that I should’ve thrown away but didn’t. It was a humbling moment.
We’re fast to jump on the horse and scream about people’s mistakes, but we can’t even see our own faults, most of the times.
What I realized is I’m usually good with not judging others too fast, but found that it isn’t true when I’m tired. I started the day with a lack of empathy mixed with my sleepy brain and this gave birth to a soapbox moment.
The good thing about all of this is I could realize it before everyone was awake so I didn’t have time to lash out at anyone. It gave me time to reflect on those thoughts. Another benefit from waking up early, right?
To summarize, it’s always good to reflect before saying anything we could regret later on, especially when we’re not fully present. It’s less painful to rethink what we’d like to say than to have to apologize because we didn’t take the time to think things through first.
What do you think?
